As a year12 student, I was really concerned about work experience, as I wanted to explore the medical field but DocTalk covered the concern swiftly, this virtual work experience in many ways is better than actual in-person experience, as you are guided by the narrator who tells you exactly what to focus on, what is a key thing to mention in your personal statement and the traits that are required from a doctor at the specific moment. It is also a great thing that I am able to rewind scenes, where I do not clearly understand what is happening or I feel like I might have missed a vital point.

COVID-19 interfered with all of my scheduled work experience, and DocTalk came to the rescue with the one part of my application I was missing - virtually shadowing doctors in a variety of departments. What made this course so special was the variety in content, and the fact that there were doctors talking you through every step made the whole course easier to follow and more enjoyable. One of the highlights of my lockdown

I have enjoyed every second of this work experience from the comfort of my house. Every section was done in a lot of detail with personal statement/interview buzzwords. One of the great points of this work experience is the reflection videos after surgeries. They helped me understand the most important parts of the surgeries and also helped me to identify important ideas for personal statement/interview. Overall, this work experience is a valuable asset for any medical school applicant and it is also very affordable.

Although I am applying for an allied health professional course rather than medicine, I found this work experience an extremely valuable replacement for my physical work experience which was cancelled due to covid-19. It taught me important practical skills such as how to approach sensitive topics with patients during consultations and the importance of communication and teamwork in a multi-disciplinary team. I also learnt how diagnoses of various illnesses can be made using technology and how to interpret results from these scans. Overall, I am proud to have Doctalk virtual work experience on my personal statement and have learnt about many aspects of a role in healthcare which can be discussed during my university interviews.

This is the first ever work experience in the medical field that I have completed . It was extremely beneficial and just made me want to do medicine more. I was already thinking about doing medicine but this just made my decision much easier- I am so glad to have found this course as it explores the different aspects in the medical career in great detail and helped me learn about all the different specialty opportunities that I can explore. I also gave in an insight into the lives of doctors and what to expect from a job in the medical field. I would definitely recommend this to any prospective medicine appliacants. Afsana Akthar

The virtual experience gave me a very insightful look into some of the most popular specialties in the medical field. It also allowed me to expand my knowledge on how everyone in medical institutions work hand-in-hand to make processes run smoothly. This will also help students in their UCAS applications as well as their personal statements.
